Welcome To Natural Wellness & Health Blog!

Welcome!

I just want to take a moment to say hello. My name is Melisa and I have always been a supporter of using Vitamins and Supplements to stay healthy or to help get back to healthy. As someone who never took so much as a Tylenol for the first 20 years of my life, I was horrified when out of nowhere my body was failing me from an illness that nearly took my life in 2006, after 2 years of hell forced to take countless chemical medications round the clock. I hated each one more than the next but without them, I literally couldn't breathe or eat and had been confined to a wheelchair. When everything climaxed in Nov. 2006 with my life hanging by threads, nobody expected I would actually pull through. Thankfully, not only did I pull through but all the misery of the 2 years prior came together in a rather beautiful way once you knew more of the bigger picture. One of the treatments for the illness keeping me down was to have surgery but tests early on led doctors to believe it wouldn't help me. However, when my life was hanging by threads, they had to open me all the way up anyway so they did that surgery while they had me on the table just in case and once I recovered from the multiple infections, blood clots and sepsis, it turned out they were wrong - the surgery DID help me immensely. Finally for the first time since falling ill in 2004 I could stand and walk on my own without help, I stopped falling and began slowly reclaiming my Independence and life as I left the wheelchair behind. Doctors tested me and technically I am NOT in remission but I went from having such little quality of life, literally waiting for death and being a full tie burden to those around me to being so normal day to day that many hardly even notice I am not as able bodied as they are. As of right now, the only things that still limit me regularly are jogging or running - can't do it, too many stairs and escalators (MG screwed up my balance overall somehow). All in all I certainly don't complain.

I told you the shortest version of that I could just so you understand what inspired me to read the PDR/Physician's Desk Reference for vitamins and supplements while I was prisoner in my own skin looking for an escape. While fighting to get back to active I searched every possible place I could for ANY information that could help me improve after the first 2 years of this hell they would give me medications which would worsen my condition 100 times more than before the new meds so after enough attempts and horrific failures made my life even more excruciating and desperate for anything that would even slightly improve my situation instead of making things worse. I had LOTS of hours of free time and besides the PDR, I read the Bible cover to cover in 2 months, dozens of college textbooks on neurology, immunology and anything related to finding a way to be me again.

Other than the surgery, I truly feel a lot of my improvement has been due to my continued use of a very specific to my needs bunch of vitamins and supplements. I also believe that CBD and THC will soon show tremendous data for many benefits. Currently there are still legal issues keeping that from being easily available but I will definitely be doing posts on this topic occasionally. I would especially like to look into the fact that the human body has an entire cannabinoid system in it to process THC and CBD. That can't be a coincidence right? However, I will not be talking about it in every post but it does fit into the category and since it has been unable to find out the truth by proper lab tests, we will be likely seeing a LOT of breakthroughs before long.

Anyway, I just thought I should fill you in on what got me so involved with Natural options for my own health. Yes, I DO hope to be able to actually make money so it IS a job BUT I am not just some student with no vested interest in what I am writing. I have been through literal hell and spent a few years certain my days were limited, I would NEVER exploit an illness for a payout and I just want to share that with you out there so you know this blog is about me helping myself by sharing what I've learned and to be 100% honest because I was only recently removed from SSDI and have tried to return to "normal" work but have not been able to do so. When I started improving after the surgery I started writing professionally and LOVED it. As always though, life happens and now I have to go solo with my writing and hope that I can help myself to be working by helping others with this. I am usually online here and can be reached if you have further questions or just need to talk to someone. I actually had been almost to my BA in psychology and still hope to return to finish my last year. If it isn't clear yet though, I stay in areas where I can help others.

So, I hope that tells you what kind of person and experience I have. I hope you will come back and spread the word. If there are any supplements anyone would like to read more about I would really like any suggestions, just drop me a comment or email and I will put it on the top of the list to explore here. I hope everyone is well and happy. Look for more posts soon! Thanks!
